THE JOURNEY

See the southern coast from water and track.

Paddle with a guide between Mārahau and Observation Beach for about three hours. The sheltered southern reaches of the park are home to golden beaches, islands, sea caves, reefs and tidal lagoons.

After the guided kayak, continue independently on an easy walk of about three hours through native fern gullies and over bush-clad headlands back to Mārahau.

This trip may run in reverse order depending on the day’s conditions and logistics.

Your day includes

  • About three hours of guided kayaking
  • About three hours of independent walking
  • Optional pre-booked lunch

Children’s and family options are available. Double kayaks are normally used for two or more people unless the group has an uneven number.
