THE JOURNEY
Paddle through the heart of the park.
Travel by water taxi from Mārahau to the golden sands of Onetahuti. After a kayak briefing, launch in stable double kayaks and paddle through the protected waters of the marine reserve, looking for seals around the bouldery headlands and sheltered coves.
Tides permitting, explore Shag Harbour before heading south past the Arches of Tonga. Pause on a beach for lunch, a swim or a short walk, then continue past beautiful beaches and lagoons towards Anchorage Bay for the water taxi back to Mārahau.
If you are already in Abel Tasman National Park, this tour can start at Onetahuti Bay and finish at Anchorage.
