How do we get to Kahu?

Meet us in Mārahau.
Our base is on Sandy Bay–Mārahau Road. Check your Kahu booking confirmation for your meeting time and allow time to check in before your trip.

From Nelson, head towards Motueka on State Highway 60, then follow the signs towards Mārahau and the Abel Tasman. Use the directions to our base rather than the national park in general.
Leave room in your plans for traffic, stops and the final coastal roads. If you need advice about parking or leaving a vehicle during a multi-day trip, ask the crew before you arrive.

The scheduled service connects Nelson, Richmond and Motueka with Mārahau and Kaiteriteri. Check the timetable to see what suits you. Your seat, pickup point, fare and times are confirmed by the crew before you travel.
Flying into Nelson?
A flight arrival needs a little more planning: the regular morning Better Bus route does not collect from Nelson Airport. Tell us your arrival details so we can help you explore an onward connection or enquire about a private transfer.
For an airport return, ask us to check the arrangements before booking a flight connection. Road and return-trip delays can affect arrival times.
